Flashback Comparison #9

This Flashback Comparison takes place soon after the original scary movie story that I later adapted into the strip. However, unlike the previous one, it has not been seen on the blog before.
I wasn't exactly the best at varying the designs of my cats early on. Except for the color of their fur, they all resembled either Bob or Garfield. Also, Moe hasn't had any allergic attacks when he was near Bob recently, has he? I guess he's been taking allergy pills.

More Flashback Comparisons to come! Stay tuned!

Wow, We're Behind

Remember, Moe called it Iikutaat because his knowledge of the real name was blocked out.
I've started needing to use a different shade of green for Bob, since my old one had its last use in our 2000th post celebration.
And this strip marks the use of another new colored pencil - Prismacolor light cerulean blue! (It's used in the pool color).

Lily Plays Bejeweled Blitz Endlessly

I've never played Bejeweled Blitz, so I couldn't actually say anything about the game. All I knew about it was that you could play it on the computer, and it involved points.

Needless to say, this will be the only 5-word strip subject.

Our First Double Post Beyond 2000 Posts

Is it me, or does today's comic strip look a little bluer to you?

Two Thousand Posts

Happy 2000th post, I.W.M.A.! I remember our 1000th post... (the title is actually a repeated title of that post.)

And so, as promised, here's our long-anticipated celebration picture (the file's kinda large):
This image contains every single character ever shown in I.W.M.A. and Nermia. Really. Try to name a character from I.W.M.A. that ISN'T in the photo (I'll make it easy for you. There isn't one).

This image shows the last usage of my light brown (skin color), main orange, pink, and Bob green (you know, Bob's shade of fur). It also introduces five new colors: beige, canary yellow, crimson red, rose, and orange, all Prismacolor.

I've started thinking that if I can get another thousand posts in, I might seriously consider ending the blog then.

Once again, happy 2000th post, I.W.M.A.!

Pulling the Ol' Switcheroo Again, Eh?

I was originally going to have this title be "Pulling the Ol' Switcheroo, Eh?" But then I thought I might have used this one before, so I checked, and indeed I had just over a week ago - word-for-word except for capitalization.

So now I guess this is a repeated title of Pulling The Ol' Switcheroo, Eh?

My brothers used to switch places a lot.

Flashback Comparison #8

This next Flashback Comparison is a single strip in the middle of a story. It introduces Michelle and Charlie (the latter's first human appearance).
Those of you who have been around for a while, or are a newer fan but have been reading the archives (wink wink), will probably remember that this strip was one of the Long-Lost strips that I revisited in 2007.

I Thought Moe's Code Name was Nardiman?

I decided to flip the first two panels from my original sketch (into their mirror images) to show that Moe was right-handed and Thidwick was left-handed.

I Notice I Didn't Say I Would Do What Moe Said About The Strip...

We recently deleted our Adobe products from our computer, and replaced them with Pixelmator. So far it seems to work pretty well.

He Didn't Say Boring!

We're almost done with our 2000th post celebration!

He Didn't Say Quiet Down, He Said TONE IT Down!

This is post #1987–we're getting extremely close to our 2000th post!!!

Peanuts Aren't Exactly In The Circus In THAT Way...

My dad actually made this into a full-fledged story he told me once.

Six-Zee

The symbol in the traditional "Z" talk bubble is not a 6 – it's actually the Deseret alphabet symbol for the "z" sound.

He Needs to Control his Temper!

When I drew this strip, I couldn't seem to get Bubbles to look angry enough in the second panel. Then I decided to make up for it in color. Originally I was just going to give him red pupils, but then I realized he needed to have his entire face be red.

I always enjoy making the strips with Gwendolyn and Bubbles.

Hey, Erica Let Her Hair Down!

I also decided to un-exaggerate the length of her hair from the first time we saw it down.

And no, Elisha and Erica are not related. They're probably just best friends.

Self-Humiliation is Never Easy

The sound in the second panel is supposed to be that combination "blah" and spitting noise that babies make all the time.
