Running gags/recurring themes

Many series have running gags, inside jokes, and recurring themes, and I Want Moe Attention is no exception. Here are some of the main running gags and recurring themes.

Charlie has a gigantic sense of humor; he does extremely weird stuff around, or even to, Moe. Sometimes he purposefully mishears or misinterprets something; sometimes he gives weird responses to relatively regular statements or questions; sometimes he simply does things that are just plain strange.

The author of I Want Moe Attention is Riley, and he does things his own way. Sometimes, though, his own way is not quite good enough for others. He and Moe often argue about something he did incorrectly or wrong, something Moe's unhappy with but isn't exactly wrong, or just something that Moe is curious about or a suggestion.

Julia has a not-so-secret desire to become President of I.W.M.A. or take over the strip somehow. It appears that she will take any measures to obtain this, failing each time. Some of her plans involve misinterpretation, running for both President and Vice President on Election Week, and hacking the Election Day database.

Moe has played several pranks on Julia since before the blog began. Since Julia became his sister, however, his pranks have become slightly more personal. His tricks have involved simple things like saying something ridiculous or throwing a blanket in her face, but he has also gone to more extreme measures such as startling her with noise and testing his machines on her multiple times.
