What, Is He Wearing His Size Changer Bodysuit Underneath?

I had to redraw this one to get Moe in full (-er) view.

Also, I'm starting to wonder...which one of them came up with the idea to sell boxes of breath mints?

5/10/12

MJ&M-Brand Mints

This idea came from an idea my brother had a little while ago. Someone's crush was coming past and he wanted to get a breath mint, and then it occurred to him that if one mint makes your breath smell good, then two would make it smell better, as would five...or ten...or fifty...and then we see him coming to his crush with two gigantic cheeks. ...I'm not exactly sure how that evolved into this.

Happy 1900th post, I.W.M.A.! To celebrate, we have this...um...what do we got lying around here, um...ah, a picture...of my...sketchbook.
Whoopee...

I hope the 2000th post's celebration is more exciting than that.

That Was All In One Box?!

The girl coming out of the water is Julia, sopping wet, and the red house is indeed the Jones'.

Originally I was just going to put the Jones family in the last panel, but I decided to put Thidwick and Bob in there too for some reason.

The Instant Sandbox! Only $249.99.99.99.99!

The price in the title is a reference to an Easter egg in a Homestar Runner cartoon.

A Sea of Hair

Loosely translated, the Spanish dialogue reads, "Where did all this hair come from?!"

1/27/11

That's a Huge Understatement

The main reason I put Merlin is the last panel is because I haven't drawn him for over a month.

Oh, Big Whoop

Originally, this was planning to be a one-time strip. But then the idea just sort of mushroomed and filled up the rest of the week.

It's Nerm!

Michelle's violet eggplant made Charlie jump screaming under Nerm's pink elephant.
Now Michelle's and Charlie's names are finally revealed! This is what they will be referred to as when they are talking to themselves, and also in the updated Welcome posts (which will be updated on June 23). It was a challenge to come up with something that didn't start with "My very eager mother."

My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us the Wrong Planet Sentence

My very eager mother just served us nine pizzas
More of this tomorrow. Do you know how I created the pizza color? I combined light shades of yellow and brown. I call the light shade of brown "niks," which is skin spelled backwards. I call it that because light brown is always the shade of skin, unless I'm coloring Nerm (orange), Bob (green), Bed Monster (red), or Mama (dark brown).

His Bathrobe's Probably Orange

What's so funny about this strip, you ask? We'll find out tomorrow.

Talking Lesson #97...He Succeeded!!

I can't believe it. Merlin talked when he wasn't trying to. I did that "A-HA!" thing in panel 3 last. That means Merlin's only going to talk for about 1 day? Well, that's 365% of a year, isn't it? So Merlin finally talked. And in only 97 lessons! That's gotta be a world record! I owe it all (and so does Moe) to our first-ever published book:

Talking Lesson #2

I liked drawing the floating Moe heads in panel 2. Each word was originally going to be a separate panel, with all of Moe. Then it would have been 7 panels! I like Merlin's bodies in panel 2. He's getting hypnotized or dizzy or something like that, and his ear is getting all twisted up.

Talking Lesson #1

The moral of this strip is: Never expect someone to show you or do something that it's learning how to do, but just barely started. The original dialogue for panel 2 was, "Do I really have to? I don't even know how!" It's been a long time since I saw Moe faint. I had to count up the seconds and say the dialogue out loud so I could do the (almost) exact number of seconds it was when Merlin said it.

The End of the Thunderstorm

Unlike all the other Moe's Dad strips...this did not come from my dad.
Okay, this was just a three-day story. Now we're going to have a 4-month story! It's going to be like a novel! This is because it came from a novel.

Whoa, I'm Glad This Didn't Happen to Our Computer!

Due to a baseball game I'm watching around 7:15, I'm posting really early.

When it came time to draw the strip, I wasn't sure how to have lightning fry the computer. The only way to solve this, I thought, was to ask Mom. Her answer was too complicated to draw in a single panel, so I made it funnier by doing this.

Happy New Month!

This strip came from a GARFIELD AND FRIENDS episode I remember seeing (on DVD. I never saw it on TV). Take a look at a little "backstory" of it. Here's how: When you get there, click on the green TV screen that says "Garfield and Friends TV Series." When that opens up, click on "Season Two." Then click the dial several times. Look at the top of the screen. When the second line says, "EPISODE 17," then enjoy it here.
