The Color Revealed!

The title is a repeated title of The Truth Revealed!

I've had this idea ever since my first strip, "Blah!" They too owned a cat, and it was yellow at first, but red marker got into his bath and he turned red.

And, actually, if you look at the Wikipedia page for Aegean cats, you'll find out they actually originated in Greece. So what? I think an Aegean cat fits Bob best.

Also, the dialogue was originally "Oh, he's a tabby." "But...tabbies aren't green!" I changed it to this in Photoshop after I had finished this post; that's when I finally decided to research cats online and see which one fit Bob best.

Fill Out The Form and Post It In the Comments

#16 should say "adjective," not "adverb."

The comment can look simply like:
1. Bob Bourshevitz; 2. seventeenth; 3. splattered; etc.

Or Meta...or Tmea

I will be filming Bronze Stool Episode 3 soon.

Wow, I'm behind on that.

Flashback Comparison #4

This fourth Flashback Comparison starts where the third one left off, after Moe's voice changes beyond his control. Again, I apologize for any copyright violation (I honestly don't know why I did that).
If you look closely in the first panel of the original, you may be able to see that Julia's name was originally Elisha. But I changed it to something else because I realized that Elisha was already the name of a character in another comic strip I used to do. Also, I decided I was going to make the Enemy's base more detailed. Oh, I snuck Bed Monster in there too.
I put in the last panel after consideration; I thought it would make the strip much better. Plus, the "power" being lost makes much more sense now, don't you think?

More Flashback Comparisons to come! Stay tuned!

What's In A Name?

Ha.

I had to put in Moe's "...almost anything" line after I forgot the "almost" in his first line. Plus, Thidwick's "HA." was put in later.

This strip was based on a real, interesting conversation I had with my friends a week ago.

Julia's Outfit Enigma

I was going to have this strip be something different at first (tomorrow's strip, actually), but I drew it kind of late. So I decided I'd make it simpler. I then thought about just having Moe stand there and say something like, "Am I supposed to be doing something?" or "Should something have happened here?" After about two minutes, it evolved into this. I decided to put in the details for Julia's clothes to give a hint as to what should have been the subject of the strip (no, it has nothing to do with the strip I was going to do today). As a side note, her pants are the same design as her nightgown.

Moe Must Really Like That Show

My brother (I can't remember which one) actually came up with Bignose.

4/22/12

So Those Are The Names of Moe's Classmates!

This strip took forever for me to get right.

What If He Started Calling YOU "Banana Whiskers?"

"Banana Beak" is actually my humorous nickname for the Angry Birds Orange Bird, and I couldn't get the image of him out of my head while I was sketching this strip. Plus, the way I drew Banana Beak is actually pretty close to the way I draw the realistic Orange Bird.

Nyeeeerowwwm!

I always try to vary the colors of Lily's bow.

Hey, The World Could Always Use Another Bottle of Soap!

Today's strip is the 2000th (!) canon strip I've done for my family since I began six years ago (!!), but only the blog's 1834th (!) strip. I'll do something special for both the blog's 2000th post and 2000th strip.

Since this is my family's 2000th strip, I put in several references to earlier strips. For one thing, I used the coloring utensils I used when I first started drawing Moe (the same ones I used in my original Flashback Comparison strips). As you can see, the only brown I have in that set gives Julia auburn hair. Plus, I reverted to Julia's original hairstyle from those same strips; also, Moe being a soap bottle is a reference to my first attempt at Charlie.

Are We On The Same Page Here?

What this world needs (well, maybe not NEEDS) is the book "101 Ways To Eat An Oreo."

Anybody up for it?

4/16/12

I Hope That Wasn't, Oh, Sabrina Syrup Or Someone!

"Sabrina Syrup" in the title is a reference to the condiments in Nermia (Cody Catsup, Mick Mustard...); it was originally was "Sally Syrup," but then I realized I already have a Sally.

Speaking of Nermia, I've really been behind on The Bronze Stool, haven't I? I'll try my hardest to get it up this week.

4/15/12

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse Me?

The title is a repeated title of Well, Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse Me!

4/14/12

No Offense To Those Who Understood This Week's Strips Perfectly...

They may not have been in the strip before, but I think I have this thing with drawing mushroom clouds.

4/10/12

Okay, But What's the Seventh?

Originally, when Moe mentioned the fourth dimension, I was going to put in a reference to the book "The Boy Who Reversed Himself," which I'm currently in the process of reading, but I changed my mind.

Stay tuned. The worst is yet to come.

Well, maybe not "worst."

4/9/12

We're Cartoons!

People with limited or no interest or understanding in things like, oh, say, higher-order dimensions, may wish to leave the blog until the week is over.

But I don't recommend it.

I'm Ready For Anything

The only problem with a drawing like that first panel is: where do you stop?!

My brother drew a drawing like that once, and I made a list of some of the things included in his drawing.  I also put in a couple of other random things, like a golf ball, pencil, and teddy bear. Then I included some things from I.W.M.A., like pizza, the Thought Translator, Queezy, Master Blaster Deluxe, and several of Moe's inventions.

4/7/12

The Ocean Water Just Turned Yellow

At first I was going to just have yellow around the "YOWOW!!!!!" in the third panel, although I realized that might look a tad weird, so I just made the entire panel yellow. I had already done the blue tint I do beforehand when I had done the yellow, and I decided to keep it just as a reminder that they were underwater.

4/6/12

Dr. Wedgewood

Dr. Wedgewood came from a street name I remembered. I had to redraw this strip when I disfigured Dr. Wedgewood in the second panel; the glasses came out too big, which made him look like some nerdy middle school student.

At first, I was going to have him say there was something ridiculous at the back of his throat (like a rhinoceros or something). I was trying to think of something that would be wedged (no pun intended) in there, when I realized that I didn't know if doctors used any instruments to look down patients' throats. For this reason, I just drew a pair of binoculars in his hands, and this changed the scope of the entire strip.

4/5/12

Wait, Two Multiple-Strip Posts In A Row?! Slacker!

I was halfway through coloring this strip when I consciously decided to use a lot of red in this strip.
Anyway, I'm back on track now.

4/3/12

Oh Boy, A Double--No, This Is A QUINTUPLE Post!!

We have a new poll up!

Back to the drawing-board...literally!
Julia wondering about the name of the city and the "...or is it??" were later additions.
I deliberately swapped the colors of Julia's clothes. My dad came up with the general idea of most of it, except the last two panels. Did you notice that "Heidi Anna"'s Elisha disguise was just a wig?

These next two strips were ones I thought of on vacation.
This idea came about when I was just doodling without really thinking about what I was drawing. I tried mixing up some stuff in this strip. For example, the red targets in the first and second panels were colored before I drew the rest of the panel. Plus, in the first panel, the overall coloring was done before the outline was drawn. Moe's camouflage outfit and the "Master Blaster Deluxe" were new additions for the strip, not in my original sketch. I really enjoyed making this strip.
Finally, today's strip. This was also thought of on vacation, although it was based on a real experience.
