I've had this idea ever since my first strip, "Blah!" They too owned a cat, and it was yellow at first, but red marker got into his bath and he turned red.
And, actually, if you look at the Wikipedia page for Aegean cats, you'll find out they actually originated in Greece. So what? I think an Aegean cat fits Bob best.
Also, the dialogue was originally "Oh, he's a tabby." "But...tabbies aren't green!" I changed it to this in Photoshop after I had finished this post; that's when I finally decided to research cats online and see which one fit Bob best.
