That's Probably as Non-Obvious As You Can Get

So THAT'S how I decided to use both punch lines in the same joke!

Uh Huh. Yeah. Sure. Right.

We recently upgraded our iWMac to a new version (v17). We've noticed that, when we do so, the Adobe products (Photoshop, Flash, etc.) we've downloaded don't work well. So we temporarily removed them from our computer. However, our tech support (basically, Jocken and Bed Monster) has not yet put the Adobe products back on. And Photoshop is what we use to rotate the strip to its correct orientation (our scanner is only able to scan it sideways). So why is it rotated correctly? We did it in another program.

Wow, that was a pretty long description for a simple change.

When I first wrote this strip, I thought of two different punch lines. I couldn't decide on which one to use, so I decided to use both. However, today's strip is only one of the punchlines. So how can I use both? Find out tomorrow!

Part of the Electromagnetic Spectrum? Find Out Now!

The title is another instance of "Find Out Now!" in the page titles.

I wasn't sure about which alien to explain it to Charlie, so I just picked my most recent addition (not counting yesterday's strip).

Again, Ow.

The title is a repeated title of Ow. The original strip didn't play out exactly this way. A man was playing fetch with his dog. He threw the ball and the dog ran off. We heard a CRASH! And the man says, "Uh...look out...for that wall."

Don't Get That Idea!

This one has only been "lost" for about five months. That's why there's no long-lost label. However, the last panel is a new addition–it wasn't in the original sketch.

Co-Op

I just realized that Merlin looks a little lighter in this strip.

Merlin's Virtual Reality Video Game Helmet is from this strip.

Okay, So This Time It's Not A Disguise

The title is a reference to the original 9th Parenting Tip, where Moe dressed up as Michelle.

That's Not A Metaphor

I don't really think this one actually has a joke...it's just kind of silly.

The Cake Is a Lie

This came from a friend of my mom's.

And in case you're wondering, the title is a reference to the 2007 game Portal. And, just as some background info, its sequel, Portal 2, is coming out in nine days! I'm completely stoked! And also, there are some game trailers in Valve's YouTube channel.

The Bouncy Mouse

I originally intended to use this strip yesterday, but I accidentally used a different idea that, ironically (or maybe not), I was intending to use today.

4/7/11

Tom, Tom, Tom...

In case you don't remember who that kid is, it's Mike.

4/6/11

Doctor WHO?!

This actually happened on a game I played with my family on Home Jeopardy. I can't remember the exact scores, but the answers Moe, Merlin, and Charlie gave are the exact same answers from the game I played.

Try Never

Sorry about the lateness of today's strip.

His Dignity Flew Out The Window

This strip was based on a confusion. I was drawing a picture of Bob and a friend of mine asked if it was a rabbit. He was not like Dan, in case you're wondering. So, being the cartoonist I am, I just kinda expanded on that and let the characters go where they wanted to go, and this happened.

I think Dan turned out a little more (ignorant? dopey? dull?) than I had originally intended. For this reason, I probably won't be using him again.

4/3/11

So He's Gravy Now?

I've been holding in this idea for about a month now. I couldn't use it when I thought of it because the February-March story was still in progress. But I scheduled this strip for the first available Sunday after the story ended.

Welcome Back

Julia tried to make the blog look as much as it could like it did back in early 2008.
