Uh oh...

That is the closest picture of Moe I've ever made.

Wait Until Midnight to Read Today's Strip!

By the way, it's midnight in the last panel. That's why I told you to wait until midnight to read it.

Some Cartoonists have Long Memories!

This was one of my first ideas for a Sunday strip. I got the idea for the strip...while the characters' personalities were still developing. But it still fits.

What's the Reaction in the Cartoon?...who knows.

Sorry I took so long to post today's strip...I was on a camping trip. Oh well...here we go.

I like Moe's expression in the first panel. I always put little "motion marks" on each side of the head (left and right) to make it look like they just realized something. Maybe he was still sleepy when he got dressed.

Happy July 28th...or...something!

Notice the shirt on this one...that wasn't my mistake, that was Moe's mistake...honestly!

A Sleepwalking Zombie?

"A Sleepwalking Zombie..." I like that. She's getting out of the way in the last panel.

Moe and Merlin think the same thoughts...at the exact same time!

Did you notice that the food bowl said "Moerlin?" That wasn't actually a mistake...I just tried to combine Moe and Merlin's names. I thought, "Hey, they both have M and E at the same time...but Merlin has no O. Why not make it Moerlin?" That idea was actually in my head from the time I did the doodle that eventually evolved into this strip.

The Quick Black-and-White Fox Jumps Over the Cartoon Dog

The original idea was the Merlin would be lying down and then sit up in the last panel. But I changed it to him meditating and sitting, to make it simpler, at the last second. Well, actually, the last minute.

Who's the Real Robber?

Whaddya mean, you don't like it?!?! You'd better be kidding...oh you are? Okay.

Cough, Laugh, and Sneeze (more like, "Cough, Cough and Cough"!)

This is my dad. He actually did the exact same thing, with two exceptions: he said "Oh, no, I cough," and he didn't say "almost." You're gonna have to hold your computer up to your mirror for the second panel...but you can't. He says, "I'll try, but I don't think I'll be able to help it!" I always love it when Moe faints: his feet are always sticking up. Whenever Moe faints, the panel will show Moe after he faints. We will never see any motion lines, or any sound effects (such as, "Klunk!"), just two red feet with sort of smoke coming up from it.

Really, really, really, really, really, REALLY big ears!

Dogs and cats talking to each other...calmly! Now there's something you don't see every day!

7/20/06

These ears are 100% rubber

Really, stretchy ears, huh?

Average number of boys with ponytails: 1 out of 0.00001

Notice the dust coming from Bob's hands in the last panel.

The Andy "Pet-Hundred"

Don't get it? Thidwick whacked Merlin to get him to stop chasing Bob. And that's what Bob did to Merlin with his tail.

What's the second most important?

Posting today's strip a little late...

New: don't get it? Well, Bob probably thought that Thidwick was correcting him.

7/17/06

Read your cat this strip...he (or she) will love it!

It looks like he's hunched over in the last panel, doesn't it?

Main Character Battles: Thidwick vs. Moe

Every now and then, the characters actually know they're in comic strips.

Introducing Brennan

Brennan is so cute, isn't he? He's Thidwick's baby brother. Brennan can talk, but he still has this cute little speech impediment. Even he hates Thidwick's blanket! As Moe would probably say, "That makes two of us." And Brennan's response would probably be, "How did he hear me if I'm just thinking these things?" I thought that was so funny, I made it into a comic strip. Oh well. Thidwick helped Brennan write his name. To make it look like that, I wrote the name with my left hand.

Introducing Merlin

Merlin is Moe's pet dog. Cute, isn't he? The black ears and black spot are little "details" I got from Snoopy. He thinks words, but sometimes he talks. When the strip started, he wasn't in yet...and none of them had eyebrows. I love the cute little eyebrows that I draw on them. To me, the characters would now look silly without eyebrows. Only Merlin and Brennan are the ones who look cute without eyebrows. In human years, Merlin is only 3. But in dog years, he would be, like, 24! Merlin cannot write in English, which explains the pawprints at the top.
