This Better Be The Last Double Post or Greater!

Wow, I haven't done a Parenting Tip for quite a while!
Actually it wasn't only "the other day;" it was almost a month ago.
It's kind of interesting that sometimes things like this can happen to me out of the blue without much thought, when I can't think of any strip ideas through conscious thought.
Whew! Finally back on track.

No Offense To Those Who Understood This Week's Strips Perfectly...

They may not have been in the strip before, but I think I have this thing with drawing mushroom clouds.

Okay, But What's the Seventh?

Originally, when Moe mentioned the fourth dimension, I was going to put in a reference to the book "The Boy Who Reversed Himself," which I'm currently in the process of reading, but I changed my mind.

Stay tuned. The worst is yet to come.

Well, maybe not "worst."

We're Cartoons!

People with limited or no interest or understanding in things like, oh, say, higher-order dimensions, may wish to leave the blog until the week is over.

But I don't recommend it.

So If They Started Talking, What Would Happen?

For every strip this week, I decided to use a different shade of orange for Moe's shirt.

At first, I was going to actually show the crowded room with the talk bubble crammed in there in the last two panels, but then I figured it'd be a little less obvious, so I changed the last two panels to me and Moe talking about it.

How Did He Get There?

This is the fourth time I have researched actual photos of animals to draw a cartoon animal. The first three times were for the quick brown fox, Nerm, and Nemo. I've noticed that, each successive time I draw the latter two, they seem to get more and more cartoony–I remove some things, I move some things, I make subtle changes, etc. Each link above shows the character's first appearance after I sketch the real animal.

H-Py F-thers D!

The title is a repeated title of H-Py M-thers D! I love the "Is that a camera?" running gag.

He Gave In...Sort Of

He's keeping the strip all days, but he's trying to word it so that it's sort of weekends only.

Pat is Disbelieving

All the strips Merlin goes to (except Weird Dog) were made by me.

Happy IWMA Day!

Today's I.W.M.A. day, so everyone's wearing orange.

We'll be doing blog updates later today; as well as our (late) 1000th post celebration.

How Did They Capture Bed?

The way they eat something upside down is they turn him upside down, and fill him with cereal, as if he were a bowl. Because, in the original story, the newspaper editor actually WAS a bowl!!

And On, And On, And On, And On...

This joke originally came from an old comic strip I used to do, Maynard and Rex. They weren't humans, similar to Melfin and Tuffet. In the original strip, there were only three panels. I added in the fourth panel to show that it really could go on and on. Oh, and in the original strip, Rex was saying, "This could go on forever." Because it could.

Z

I actually used a real black crayon for the last two panels.

We apologize for the late post. We forgot to do it Saturday night. Anyways, here's yesterday's strip...
